Looking for the following:

Type of opportunity:

Sale (Standard), Sale (Owner Financed), Lease with Option to Buy, Employment with Transfer. More info: We are two inspired young farmers looking for a plot of land to homestead, farm and set up a farmstay b&b business. There lives a dream within us to find a farmer or landowner who wants to see their land respected for generations to come and is ready to move on from farming or tending that land. We are ready to purchase or lease-to-own and are open to many different situations. Potential land will have a small portion tillable for vegetable and herb production, with the rest in pasture and forest. Much of the details of our project will be determined by the land, location and existing infrastructure.

Equipment & infrastructure:

Barn, Fencing, Well / Pond / Other water source, Greenhouse, Livestock facilities, Farmer housing, Farm equipment, Processing facilities, Irrigation equipment, Cold storage (cooler/freezer). More info: Open to most equipment and infrastructure. A small barn or coop is great, as we plan to have a small dairy goat herd and birds for meat and eggs. Greenhouse space for a small nursery area is ideal. A well, spring, or other watersource is essential. Existing housing is not necessary but will boost our purchasing incentive, as we hope to live and work there as soon as possible.

Current production on farm:

Cattle (Dairy/Beef), Fallow, Field crops, Flowers, Hay or pasture, Herbs, Hogs, Orchard, Poultry (Broiler/Layer), Sheep/Goat (Dairy/Meat), Vegetable production, Vineyard, Woodlot or forest products. More info: Open to all opportunities.

Current farming practices:

Biodynamic, Certified organic, Transitioning to organic, Ecological production but not certified, None, the property is not being farmed. More info: Open to most situations.

Qualifications and goals:

Previous farming experience:

Volunteer, Employee

Number of years experience:

4

Other qualifications:

More info: We have experience in organic farming, bed and breakfast management, professional cooking/catering, landscape design, animal husbandry, perennial nursery propagation, natural building, volunteer coordination, farm education, medicine making and many other homestead skills.

Production goals:

Field crops, Flowers, Herbs, Orchard, Poultry (Broiler/Layer), Sheep/Goat (Dairy/Meat), Vegetable production, Woodlot or forest products. More info: We hope to steward the land first and foremost, with food production as a major focus and hospitality as our main source of income. Bioregional landscaping, orchard planting, non timber forest production, goat husbandry, poultry production, permaculture design, and natural building techniques will all be implemented to create an oasis for us to share with people interested in reconnecting with the land and establishing a relationship with their food. We plan to construct several tiny homes out of natural materials (local timber, cobb, etc) and rent these to guests as a bed-and-breakfast-on-the-farm experience. The longterm dream would be to host education in regenerative systems.

Personal experience and production goals summary:

We are honest, hard working people looking to care for a small plot of land for the long-term, creating something beautiful to share with others.
