Looking for the following:

Type of opportunity:

Lease (1 to 5 Years), Business Partnership. More info: I'm looking to grow an organic and transition grain production farm. Conventional farmland is fine! I work as a consulting agronomist with a masters degree in soil science from NC State. I dont have equipment yet so I'll be renting and using custom work for a couple of years. I have good finances and willing to consider some pretty wide opportunities. I like marketing and considering value add processes.

Current production on farm:

Cattle (Dairy/Beef), Field crops, Hay or pasture, Herbs, Orchard, Sheep/Goat (Dairy/Meat), Vegetable production.

Qualifications and goals:

Previous farming experience:

Volunteer, Employee

Number of years experience:

5

Other qualifications:

Farm business training, Academic degree in agriculture or related field. More info: Currently an agronomist.

Production goals:

Cattle (Dairy/Beef), Field crops, Herbs, Orchard, Vegetable production, Woodlot or forest products. More info: Organic grain with value add processes on some portion of it. From my day job I have access to markets for specialty and crops grown to spec. High tunnel and other mushroom ag is long term future plan with additional capital.

Personal experience and production goals summary:

Ive grown a hundred crops with many farmers in a lot of different states, under a lot of conditions. Im looking for my farm where I can make my own mistakes and bring crops to market. Im basically tired of watching everyone else have all the fun.
