Production goals:

Hay or pasture, Sheep/Goat (Dairy/Meat). More info: We want to raise high quality lamb to provide to customers and restaurants around the Triangle. In addition we hope to be able to offer breeding stock to other local farmers.

Personal experience and production goals summary:

I (John) grew up on a small livestock farm in Granville county. We raised 1000 Chickens and 5 hogs each year. While in high school I started a cow herd and offered grassfed beef at local farmers markets. I graduated from NC State with degrees in Ag Business Management and Ag Science. My wife (Annabel) also graduated from NC State with a degree in Animal Science. We sold the cows and moved to western NC where we worked at the Biltmore Estate. I worked on the west side where we had 350+ cows and 200 Sheep. Annabel worked on the east side with their agrotourism farm.

We have since moved back to Granville county and restarted the farm on family land (10 acres). From our experience at the Biltmore Estate we decided small ruminants fit our capabilities/ goals better than beef cattle. We currently have 20 Ewes and their babies and are looking to expand our operation. The land we have currently is not big enough for us to expand without sacrificing animal or pasture health.

Our goal is to provide quality lamb to the triangle.

We are looking to lease land near southern granville county or purchase land in the surrounding counties.
