Personal experience and production goals summary:

I have had a several years on my own 300 acres in the Virginia Mountains. Where I transformed the land form just forests into different areas. Some into pasture for cattle, some into ponds for catfish and bass, the two streams were stocked with native trout, some into areas for the wild life (deer, bear, turkey, fesants ) to thrive, some in areas to for hay, some into areas for crops, some into areas to harvest and replant timber, What we harvested we processed into useable materials for the farm, or processed for firewood or mulch, we used the aggregate for structures or roads, etc.
