Looking for the following:

Type of opportunity:

Sale (Standard), Sale (Owner Financed), Lease (1 to 5 Years), Lease with Option to Buy, Internship / Mentorship, Incubator / Mentored Lease, Business Partnership, Employment, Employment with Transfer. More info: I am currently running a farm with dairy goats, and agritourism programs. I am hoping to move to my own space with those animals, and take over the business I am currently running. I am very flexible and willing to do the work to make land usable. However right now I am looking for land near my home in Durham county (27704) that would be an easy commute and either be affordable or allow me to take over by working my way into trust and/or seller financing. I have my own camper and would just need water and electricity, if three wasn't a house or housing available. I do also have a 3 year old that will be coming with me :)

Equipment & infrastructure:

Barn, Fencing, Well / Pond / Other water source, Greenhouse, Livestock facilities, Farmer housing, Farm equipment, Irrigation equipment, Cold storage (cooler/freezer). More info: I would ideally want enough space in pasture that I can put up fences and buildings for animals. If already existing that would be ideal. Would also love at least one building for programs, or storage

Current production on farm:

Aquaculture, Cattle (Dairy/Beef), Fallow, Field crops, Flowers, Hay or pasture, Hemp, Herbs, Honey bees, Orchard, Poultry (Broiler/Layer), Sheep/Goat (Dairy/Meat), Vegetable production, Vineyard, Woodlot or forest products. More info: It would depend on the site, but most of theses production types can be adapted to my needs.

Current farming practices:

Biodynamic, Certified organic, Transitioning to organic, Ecological production but not certified, None, the property is not being farmed. More info: I would prefer to not take on fields with a lot of chemicals as they could harm the goats and come out in the milk.

Qualifications and goals:

Previous farming experience:

Manager

Number of years experience:

5

Other qualifications:

Incubator program, Farm business training.

Production goals:

Hay or pasture, Herbs, Honey bees, Orchard, Poultry (Broiler/Layer), Sheep/Goat (Dairy/Meat), Vegetable production. More info: I am hoping to move the current business which produces milk for soap, and pet consumption; duck eggs; healing programs with the animals; and kids programs. I would love to expand our programs, and include a learning/community garden, bees, herb production, and a intentional farm community that at minimum cares for the land and animals together, but also may live in community as well.

Personal experience and production goals summary:

I was a teacher for 11 years and have been managing my former partner's farm for 5 years. I have developed programs that are a form of ecotourism and educate local children and others about farm life, as well as provides connection and healing with super socialized and sweet animals. I would like to provide more local products to the community. I would really like to get some land around other like-minded people so that we can bond together and create a community and achieve more than any individual farm can do on their own.
