Sale (Standard), Sale (Owner Financed), Lease with Option to Buy. More info: We are a young married couple seeking to build a multi-faceted family farm where we live and work. With expertise in pasture based livestock and both perennial and annual crops our goal is to create a diverse landscape and business model. Ideally land will be located in the piedmont or mountain regions of western/central VA, NC, or SC and consist of pasture, woodland, and cropland.

Equipment & infrastructure:

Barn, Fencing, Well / Pond / Other water source, Greenhouse, Livestock facilities, Farmer housing, Farm equipment, Processing facilities, Irrigation equipment, Cold storage (cooler/freezer). More info: Main infrastructure needs include a house and barn(s). Any additional equipment, buildings, or facilities are a plus.

Current production on farm:

Aquaculture, Cattle (Dairy/Beef), Christmas trees, Fallow, Field crops, Flowers, Hay or pasture, Herbs, Hogs, Orchard, Poultry (Broiler/Layer), Sheep/Goat (Dairy/Meat), Vegetable production, Vineyard, Woodlot or forest products. More info: We are open to buying a farm that is currently in production and continuing with that system. However, we're also not opposed to taking over land that does not currently support a farm business. Our main production goal is to raise meat for a well-known regional brand and also to explore other options including but not limited to: specialty crops, eggs, on-farm retail, tourism and education, and/ or U-pick.

Current farming practices:

Biodynamic, Conventional, Certified organic, Transitioning to organic, Ecological production but not certified, None, the property is not being farmed. More info: Our primary focus will be the establishment of dynamic agricultural systems that incorporate a lot of the principles inherent in the organic and other ecological farming systems. We do not require that the farm is certified to any of these programs or that the land has been managed under any specific ecological protocols. We may be interested in taking soil tests depending the past management history of the land.

Production goals:

Cattle (Dairy/Beef), Field crops, Flowers, Hay or pasture, Herbs, Hogs, Orchard, Poultry (Broiler/Layer), Vegetable production, Vineyard, Woodlot or forest products. More info: Our primary focus will be wholesale meats. The lay of the land, existing infrastructure, and proximity to markets will be determining factors in terms of what other production goals we establish. Over time we also aim to establish on-farm tourism, education, research, and consulting elements to our business.
