I have currently 60 acres certified organic which I farm as a CSA, distillery and brewer grain, alfalfa, Corrente cattle, and a small trucking operation. I want to increase my land base to fulfill Barley contract for 2019 cropping season and beyond, I would like to have an increase in the land to ramp up produce production. I have a great team as my father is my mentor and has aided in my background and understanding of specialty crop production. I have an AA in diesel, and currently in school at Riverland taking 24 credits a year.

Equipment & infrastructure:

Greenhouse, Farmer housing, Processing facilities, Cold storage (cooler/freezer). More info: As I have increased my CSA I feel have cold storage will be a major asset to our produce production and processing and shipping 12 months a year. If have the land and the facilities we can be the local supplier to several Universities and local artisans, make our operation truly field to plate. Then and only then can we begin to teach and instruct on the finer points of organic agriculture as my father has always taught me educated people make educated decisions.

Current farming practices:

Certified organic. More info: Everything is organic production and using organic chemistry and physics as a base in my nutrient management plan, by this I use the periodic chart to understand my nutrient and what I'm lacking and apply nutrients to release other nutrients in the soil. This will be based on the fact that calcium is a 39 of atomic mass and potassium is a 40, when applying enough calcium to our soils we will release potassium this way we use less to grow more.

Good soil is a living organism made up of minerals, water, air, and organic matter which converts to humus. All are necessary for healthy, high-quality crops. Good soil is not the only factor; plants also need nutrients. There are at least sixteen elements needed in the proper amounts to balance the soil. These nutrients include humus, along with N, P, K.
