Personal experience and production goals summary:

We are a family of 4. My husband is a software engineer in Ft Mill SC and I am a homeschool mom to our 7 & 8 year old kids. We currently have a small herb and vegetable garden and a small flock of laying hens. Eventually, we would like to have fruit trees and bushes, honeybees, a larger flock of layers, as well as goats and sheep for milk and fiber. We are considering adding rabbits for fiber as well. We hope to use the milk to create other products such as soap and to use the fiber to make wool for needle felting and yarn. We aren’t able to buy but want to stay in the area for several years. We are eager to get started on our dream of having a small productive farm and are currently doing all the reading/researching and volunteering we can to prepare!
