Personal experience and production goals summary:

At 19 years old I began gardening on my parents 1/4 acre backyard growing enough food for my family and I to eat for most of the year. I quickly fell in love with farming and working directly with earth. After 3 seasons of gardening I began working full time as a farmer on an 18 acre farm that supplied 250 CSA members, local restaurants and an onsite farmstand. After 2 years at that farm I began managing a 3 acre CSA farm located on a NY State Park and did a season there. Now I am currently managing a no-till farm in Maine. I would like to start an operation that attends local farmers markets, supplys a CSA to the surrounding local community and supplys local chefs with fresh produce. I practice intensive, no till methods of farming that preserves soil structure and creates a balanced ecosystem to grow the most nutrient dense food. I also would like to have pastured chickens for personal use and maybe eventually add it as another enterprise if it seems doable and profitable.

Although this is seperate from farming I'd like to add this in for those who may be interested. My partner is also looking to get into farming with me doing more of the backend side of the business while I focus on production. Where she truly shines is yoga. We do yoga retreats throughout the year and they have been extremely successful for us. She teaches the yoga classes and workshops while I bring seasonal produce that I have grown and cook all the meals for our guests. Instead of renting a house, our dream would be to have a big enough house or separate living space to combine our retreats with the farm.

If any of this sounds right to you please don't hesitate to reach out. We have a solid business plan, alot of experience and some capital to work with. Hope to hear from you!
