Looking for the following:

Type of opportunity:

Sale (Standard), Sale (Owner Financed), Lease (1 to 5 Years), Lease (5+ Years), Lease with Option to Buy, Internship / Mentorship, Incubator / Mentored Lease, Business Partnership, Employment, Employment with Transfer. More info: I am new to farming (up to this point it would be considered gardening for my family). I want to expand my experiences/production. I would love to have more hands-on education (you can only learn so much from books). I am willing to lease/buy small acreage to work myself but would much rather get involved in something bigger where I am learning and earning at the same time. A mentored lease or partnership would be absolutely ideal but at this point I am striving so hard to move forward with growth that I am open to most things. I am in my thirties and have a family to support. I have management experience in many fields just none in ag. I am used to and fine with 12+ hr days.

Equipment & infrastructure:

More info: Because of my generalized interest in ag it is hard to say that I know I need any piece of equipment. If I'm going to be working veg (my only experience up to now) in a small field I would need irrigation equipment, with cold storage and greenhouse preferable. But if someone were willing to bring me on to mentor me or partner with me in livestock or aquaponics, etc then i would obviously not need to list anything more than then the owner saw fit. Just trying to be open about opportunities.

Current production on farm:

Aquaculture, Cattle (Dairy/Beef), Christmas trees, Fallow, Field crops, Flowers, Hay or pasture, Herbs, Hogs, Orchard, Poultry (Broiler/Layer), Sheep/Goat (Dairy/Meat), Vegetable production, Vineyard, Woodlot or forest products. More info: I am open to learn anything that i can. I have previous experience in small amounts of veg and a little in woodlot type experience (clearing brush, wood splitting, blocking up downed trees). I'm interested in ag and would like to soak up any experience i can get. I just have to be able to bring money home for the family as a full time thing OR stay small for the time being as a side hustle while I continue working full time.

Current farming practices:

Biodynamic, Conventional, Certified organic, Transitioning to organic, Ecological production but not certified, None, the property is not being farmed. More info: I would prefer to stay within the realm of ecological/sustainable/regenerative. I love the ideas and processes behind permaculture but realize that if you want to stay in business you have to think like a business and that idealism can be counter-productive.

Qualifications and goals:

Number of years experience:

0

Other qualifications:

More info: As stated previously, I have several years of supervisory and management roles under my belt from various industries. Retail, food service, warehousing, and manufacturing. In each of those cases I've started at or near the bottom and moved up by proving myself capable amd worthwhile. I have some college credit but have not finished my degrees. I am used to working long shifts, sometimes at multiple jobs in one day, sometimes going weeks without a day off. In short, hard work doesn't frighten me. I have a family that keeps me centered and focused on striving to be the best I can be.

Production goals:

Aquaculture, Cattle (Dairy/Beef), Christmas trees, Fallow, Field crops, Flowers, Hay or pasture, Herbs, Hogs, Orchard, Poultry (Broiler/Layer), Sheep/Goat (Dairy/Meat), Vegetable production, Vineyard, Woodlot or forest products. More info: Either I continue growing veg part time but increase my scale one step at a time with small acreage leases learning as i go or I make a move to go full time farming, preferably with some sort of mentor, partner, or employer. In the case of the full time I am willing to try any type of ag as long as it is moving me towards the goal of becoming a full time farmer.
