Looking for the following:

Type of opportunity:

Sale (Standard), Sale (Owner Financed), Lease (1 to 5 Years), Lease (5+ Years), Lease with Option to Buy, Internship / Mentorship, Incubator / Mentored Lease, Business Partnership, Employment, Employment with Transfer. More info: We are interested in starting a family farm in 2021. I am interested in using permaculture techniques as I gradually build the farm. I would like to eventually also market crops toward local co-ops, farmers markets, grocery stores, or restaurants. I would also like to start from small livestock and grow to larger livestock as the farm grows. I am willing to work with what the land is capable of giving me in the meantime to build and sustain the operation. (Ex: hay production, timber, firewood) I am looking for a rent to own or owner financed situation (40 to 200 acres) but I would prefer there be a home for my family of 7 to live in on the property.

Equipment & infrastructure:

Barn, Fencing, Well / Pond / Other water source, Farmer housing. More info: Fencing around the perimeter or some of the perimeter of the property would be nice. I also would like access to a substantial water source.

Current production on farm:

Aquaculture, Cattle (Dairy/Beef), Fallow, Field crops, Flowers, Hay or pasture, Herbs, Hogs, Orchard, Poultry (Broiler/Layer), Sheep/Goat (Dairy/Meat), Vegetable production, Vineyard, Woodlot or forest products. More info: Any of the above operations present would be fine. I can work with what is there to develop our vision.

Current farming practices:

Biodynamic, Conventional, Certified organic, Transitioning to organic, None, the property is not being farmed.

Qualifications and goals:

Previous farming experience:

Volunteer, Employee

Number of years experience:

Other qualifications:

More info: Self taught through own research and experimentation. I grew up on a farm working with my grandfather who had extensive gardens and kept at least 30 - 80 head of cattle and some pigs on 200+ acres. I have worked on a dairy farm, helped to harvest hay and straw with extended family and kept my own gardens. I hold a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary studies in Business and Aviation as a result of my almost 11 years of Air Force service (currently serving). Most of my recent study has come from studying permaculture methods for a more long-term sustainable operation that will be multi-generational. I also would like to use lean processes in my operation to be as efficient as possible.

Production goals:

Aquaculture, Cattle (Dairy/Beef), Field crops, Flowers, Hay or pasture, Herbs, Hogs, Orchard, Poultry (Broiler/Layer), Sheep/Goat (Dairy/Meat), Vegetable production, Vineyard, Woodlot or forest products. More info: I would also like to keep honey bees on the property eventually, as well as, contribute to heirloom seed production.

Personal experience and production goals summary:

I am prepared to conduct my own market research and engagement in the area to determine the food production needs in the surrounding market to maximize farm to table efficiency and profits.
