Looking for the following:

Type of opportunity:

Sale (Standard), Sale (Owner Financed), Employment, Employment with Transfer. More info: I am looking to grow heirloom beans, grains, seeds, and vegetables using veganic (vegan organic) practices. I also would like to incorporate as many native species as possible. Just a small amount of land would be ideal as I am just starting out and experimenting with what will work. Looking to buy, not lease! I prefer to be close to Asheville (within 30 mins). I do not need housing if located close to Asheville.

Current farming practices:

Biodynamic, Certified organic, Transitioning to organic, Ecological production but not certified, None, the property is not being farmed.

Qualifications and goals:

Previous farming experience:

Employee

Number of years experience:

2

Production goals:

Field crops, Flowers, Herbs, Vegetable production.

Personal experience and production goals summary:

I have about two years of farming experience, through WWOOFing on veganic farms in CA and in WA and through an organic farm in CT. I am looking to get to know the agricultural community near Asheville, NC and to decide if it is right for me. I hope to fill in gaps in what is being produce locally, focusing on providing necessities for the vegan diet (I have a feeling this will mean growing more legumes, grains, and nuts). I do not have a set quantity I would like to produce, but am guessing 1 acre will be plenty for me as I experiment with what works and what doesn't!
