Looking for the following:

Type of opportunity:

Sale (Standard), Lease (5+ Years), Lease with Option to Buy. More info: I am looking for land to preferably purchase, but am open to leasing at first or for a long period of time. Land with both space to cultivate large amounts of herbs and vegetables and wooded space to wild-simulate native medicinal herbs as well. With those sort of plant it usually helps if there is a stream/river in the area, these plants would be grown mostly for conservation but occasional sales too once established. This space would ideally be a space for education and events for people to come visit and work in the fields, taking courses and classes and much more.

Equipment & infrastructure:

Well / Pond / Other water source, Greenhouse, Farmer housing, Farm equipment, Irrigation equipment, Cold storage (cooler/freezer). More info: Established housing is preferred, but I would hope to establish more structures in the future. Stream/water source would be amazing as well in reference to the native plants I mentioned above. Greenhouse would be necessary as we grow many plants from all over the world that need an extended season. Irrigation equipment helps as well and storage, as we hope to be providing to many markets, chefs and ideally a CSA.

Current production on farm:

Flowers, Herbs, Orchard, Vegetable production, Woodlot or forest products. More info: The growing of herbs and vegetables would be best, and wooded space for conservation or woodland natives as well.

Current farming practices:

Biodynamic, Certified organic, Transitioning to organic, Ecological production but not certified. More info: I operate on organic, permaculture-oriented methods and it would be ideal to know the land does not have chemical residue.

Qualifications and goals:

Previous farming experience:

Volunteer, Manager

Number of years experience:

4

Other qualifications:

Incubator program, Academic degree in agriculture or related field. More info: I have worked in small-scale herb and vegetable production for the past 4 years and operate 2 urban gardens in the Charlotte area. I have studied Permaculture Design formally and have had to work with financial issues and more through running these gardens.

Production goals:

Aquaculture, Field crops, Flowers, Hemp, Herbs, Orchard, Poultry (Broiler/Layer), Vegetable production, Woodlot or forest products. More info: I hope to grow medicinal herbs as the priority, with various fruits and veggies from different cultures around the world. We grow many of these in our urban gardens currently and look to grow them in larger amounts for our markets and educational opportunities. Investing in perennial fruits/trees etc. would be done as well.

Personal experience and production goals summary:

I have been working with small-scale urban gardening for the past 4 years, cultivating mostly medicinal herbs and vegetables/fruits from all over the world, including natives woodland medicinals. The gardens I run are based on permaculture philosophies and regenerative farming methods. I hope to be producing herbs for personal company products, produce for a small CSA (or maybe large, just depends), and to provide for the various immigrant communities in the Charlotte area by growing plants that are not easily found in the region. I will also be selling to various chefs and stores around town.
