More info: I am looking for 1-5 acres of land to begin a sustainable farming project. Sustainability and food security are my core values. I am currently working and living full time on a 7 acre sustainable CSA farm in upstate NY for the farming season. Prior to that I worked part time on a 2 acre farm for a few months. I would like to start a forest garden, also known as a food forest. It is a subcategory of agroforestry that is focused on polyculture that is arranged in layers like a wild forest. This would include a lot of trees and bushes in addition to vegetables.
I would like to produce food for my family and eventually for others once the food forest is established.
Current farming practices:
Biodynamic, Certified organic, Transitioning to organic, Ecological production but not certified.
