Acres of cropland or tillable land 1.0

Looking for the following:

Type of opportunity:

Sale (Standard), Sale (Owner Financed), Lease (1 to 5 Years), Lease (5+ Years), Lease with Option to Buy, Internship / Mentorship, Incubator / Mentored Lease, Business Partnership, Employment, Employment with Transfer. More info: My husband, Jay, is an Army veteran, currently studying sustainable agriculture at Warren Wilson (class of 2022). His interests include beekeeping, animal care and hemp; my background includes entrepreneurship and marketing. We would love an opportunity to do ag tourism. He is a 2nd year member of the ruminant crew at WWC but his passion for ag was spurred past a lifelong interest in gardening when he joined the SAVE Farm program in Manhattan, KS. While we aren’t in a position to take on much acreage until after he graduates, if the right opportunity came along, we could figure it out. We are resilient, resourceful and an excellent team.

Qualifications and goals:

Previous farming experience:

Volunteer, Employee

Number of years experience:

2

Other qualifications:

Academic degree in agriculture or related field. More info: Jay is currently a sophomore studying sustainable agriculture at Warren Wilson College. He participated in the SAVE Farm in Manhattan KS while transitioning from the Army (Ft Riley) to civilian life. During that time, he gained a beekeeping certification. I am an entrepreneur in the domestic animal services space, so while I don’t have farm business training, I do have business experience and a passion for animals.

Personal experience and production goals summary:

We do not have specific goals as of yet, but Jay is already planning to do his senior project studying hemp. We have also previously discussed a lavender farm + beehives, but we recognize lavender requires very specific land and climate characteristics. I would be most interested in something we could monetize through ag tourism but that’s not a prerequisite.
