Personal experience and production goals summary:
I've been in industry since 2008 when I was in my second year of college pursuing degrees in Greenhouse/Nursery and Landscape/Turf in Eastern Washington. I have been leasing land in WNC for three years, mostly raising my young children and building up a network while gardening and learning how to grow things in a wildly different climate than I'm used to. I am currently in the market to find my own piece of property on which to pursue my interest in a cut flower and medicinal herb farm. I would like 1-5 acres of total property, and upwards of 2 acres that could go into production. I am open to the right opportunity on the outlier of this spectrum. I intend to immediately transition my current microgreen and layer hen production as an immediate jumping-off point, and am prepared to go into market garden production with cut flowers assuming there is a production area reasonably ready to plant into. I grow following no-till, sustainable practices, implementing permaculture principles, biodynamics, and organic inputs. I am also currently working with ASAP and Mountain Bizworks to develop my business plan.
