My goals are growing culinary and medicinal mushrooms and microgreens as the first step in ground-up community-oriented development.

Personal experience and production goals summary:

I am a recent college graduate that has dabbled both in the agro-startup realm as well as navigated mushroom-growing ventures at established traditional farms. I am currently working as an adult educator for NC farmers through an NC State - NC A&T joint venture. (Though I've been doing carpentry since I was 12) My total hands-on farm experience is within a very small time frame, but I am looking to buy land for the purpose of community building and consciousness raising. My crop of choice is mushrooms. I plan to scale out an online and community-serving culinary and medicinal mushroom operation. Using the funds earned, I can both buy and create the structures needed to add more modular shipping container grow rooms and myco-tectural structures from biobased construction materials. Operational goals are utilizing automation for efficient mushroom growth, hydroponic methods to grow greens, and closed loop systems of mushroom-based packaging, architecture, and themed agritourism. If excess land is made available to me, my secondary interests are in the realm of microgreens, market gardening, and muscadines in order to grow culturally relevant food. For investment purposes, bamboo [and/or hemp] could be meticulously planted on excess land as an investment crop.
