Property Description

We have 32 acres near Snow Camp and Saxapahaw NC that will be the home of a Summer Camp for low income/at risk children ages 6-11. We would like to develop the land as a working farm so that the campers can learn the importance of farming and sustainable food sources. This is a big project with a huge vision and we are looking for energetic motivated self-sarters to help build this vision into reality.

Type of opportunity - more info

This mission is a work in progress. We anticipate the 32 acres becoming a full working farm as well as a location for a community wellness center with a pool and trails and a youth center to accommodate a Summer Camp for at risk youth. We are looking for creative, energetic self motivated farmers who share our vision to help make our vision a reality!

Equipment & infrastructure

  • Fencing
  • Well / Pond / Other water source
  • Farmer housing

Equipment & infrastructure - more info

Right now there is a small home on the land but we are more or less starting from scratch, but we are willing to finance the start up if we can find some to serve as stewards of the land and to help develop the farm and our dream

Current production on farm

  • Vegetable production

Current production on farm - more info

Very little other than a small garden plot yielding peppers and okra. We really have no idea on the sub-type of the acreage as this land has not previously been developed as a farm. There is a small garden plot that was used by the previous owners for various veggies.

Current and past farming practices

  • None, the property is not being farmed

Current and past farming practices - more info

Just a small garden plot that the previous owners used to grow their own veggies.

Additional aspects

This is a dream in progress, the farmers would live on this land and we'd like to have a sustainable organic farm with minimal livestock, BUT this will very much be a collaborative effort between the owners and the farmers/stewards
