Property Description

We have 1/2-3/4 acre of land available in Leicester (off Dix Creek/Mink Farm Road, about 10 minutes from West Asheville) for a farmer to use to start their own vegetable/herb CSA. The land was formerly used to grow tobacco and abuts a stream. There is also the potential for additional homesteading-type initiatives (i.e. fruit trees, poultry) if desired. Some farming/serious gardening experience necessary. There will be an apartment on the property available for rent which is part of a small intentional community devoted to ecological sustainability (including regenerative agriculture) and social justice. Living on the property is preferred, but not mandatory. Membership in the community and alignment with its values is required in order to live in the apartment.

This is an opportunity to set up your own vegetable/herb CSA following an agreed-upon plan. Terms are open to discussion, but will probably entail a share of the CSA produce (no monetary lease fee). Some labor may be contributed by community members but the final responsibility and profit of the CSA will be the farmer's.
