This property was originally used by bright leaf tobacco farmers. After its acquisition by the Town of Cary in 2008, it was cover cropped to rebuild soil quality. The cultivator farm program has been operating since spring 2017, with 11 0.5 acre production plots. No conventional chemicals have been used since fall 2016. All farmers are required to follow National Organic Program standards and use sustainable agriculture practices.
