Personal experience and production goals summary:

As a South Carolina Native, most of my childhood was spent outside. Since a young age, I have maintained a backyard garden. Although, nothing extravagant it has become something I look foward to each year. I am currently a teacher and enjoy educating my students on the importance of sustainability.  Over the past year or so, my boyfriend and I have begun looking for ways to make this an even bigger part of our lives. We've become interested in the concept of Market Gardening using Biointensive Methods. We've conducted extensive research on what all this would take and are ready to take our dream to the next level. The ability to lease, own, or work on farm land would put us one step closer to our goal. We would love to begin producing vegetables at a small scale to where we could sell to CSA members and restaurants. We currently live in Charlotte, NC and plan to market to local bars and restaurants (owned by a close family member), fellow teachers and parents of my current elementary school in Fort Mill, SC, as well as friends, family, and neighbors. We would love the opportunity to begin living our dream as soon as possible.
