Plan
Beginners with basic knowledge and minimal experience. Husband and wife. Both with strong family history of farmers but not farmers ourselves. We would like to gain experience in all types of farming. We plan to homestead for sustainability and preservation of NC farmland and farming culture.

We are inheriting family farmland in Macon county and will have our own equipment and infrastructure. We are looking to learn, work, apprentice on established local farms.

Experience details
I grew up in a family with rich farming history with grandparents that continued to garden produce for personal use. My husband also grew up with a great appreciation for farming, raising livestock, participating in youth livestock shows and helping with family gardening. He attended NCSU Ag Institute to further his knowledge of agriculture. Both of his parents worked as NC Ag extension agents. Both my husband and I have minimal personal farming experience as adults, but we have spent the last couple of years learning as much as possible online. We have both suffered from chronic health issues, which we are recovering from and now want to make a huge change in our lives, by homesteading.
