Hi all! I am looking for cropland for lease anywhere between 0.25 to 2 acres.

I have been micro-farming/gardening own my own property for many years, and I am now looking to expand and make a profit doing what I love. Overall, my vision is to have a profitable micro-farm while maintaining a healthy ecosystem that can support several different crops, pollinators, and protect our natural resources. I plan to use a mix of biointensive, regenerative, and historical farming practices as much as possible and understand what management techniques work best through trial and error. I will also be incorporating native plant species throughout the farm and companion planting as much as possible.

  • Farmer housing
  • Barn
  • Greenhouse
  • Cold storage (cooler/freezer)
  • Well / Pond / Other water source

Equipment and infrastructure details

A greenhouse and cold storage would be ideal, but this does not need to be an absolute.

  • Lease (1 to 5 Years)
  • Lease w/Mentoring
  • Incubator Program
  • Employment / Internship / Mentorship

Opportunity details

I am mainly looking for a 1–5-year lease at the moment, but I am open to other opportunities as well.

  • Biodynamic
  • Regenerative
  • Certified organic
  • Ecological production but not certified

Practices details

  • Focus on crops with high return per square foot
  • Intensive farming techniques:

Succession planting—replenish and replant crops immediately after harvest to ensure continuous production.

Raised beds—improves drainage and allows for tighter plant spacing leading to higher yields.

High tunnels/Greenhouses—extend growing season and protects high value crops from weather and pests.

Vertical gardening—use trellises etc. to grow vining crops upward. Polycultures and intercropping—planting multiple compatible crops in the same space to use resources more efficiently and naturally deter pests.

  •  Biointensive methods: focusing on soil health and plant density.
  • Native gardening: implementing native plants
  • Flowers / Herbs
  • Vegetables

Goals details

Farming practices: biointensive, regenerative, and historical practices that require low-tech techniques and no-till farming.

  1. Obtain 1/4 to 2 acres of land for vegetable and herb farming.
  2. To make enough income on the property to supplement part-time work off the farm and eventually full-time work on the farm.
  3. To provide enough products to sell from a farm stand, farmers market, or to local businesses.
  4. To preserve and enhance the beauty of the property and share with others.
