Farming part-time for income

Seeking
- 11-50 Total acres
Desired locations
Seeking land for regenerative agriculture centered on dairy goats.
Plan
I have a small herd of (rare) guernsey goats and two "milk mutts" on less than two acres of leased land. I am starting slow and carefully with the near-term hope of starting a micro-dairy. In a year or two (as goat proliferation goes) I will outgrow my wonderful lease situation and will need a new goat-home.
I am looking for land with fencing and access to water within 45 minutes of Chapel Hill (in Alamance, Chatham, Person, Durham or Caswell county). I am able to beef up existing fencing to be goat-proof or to add fencing.
Desired infrastructure
Preferred type of opportunity
Opportunity details
My best-case scenario is one that can grow with my business: a flat long-term lease that would allow me to expand acreage as needed, lease to own, a compatible enterprise in a shared business venture, etc.
I would also possibly be interested in taking over your enterprise as you retire. If keeping your land in American agriculture is important to you, we can ensure that happens by enrolling it in an agricultural easement, another similar program or by signing a legal contract.
Desired farming practices
Practices details
I am very interested in regenerative agriculture.
Of course, goats are marvelous brush clearers. They love blackberries, wild roses, kudzu, poison ivy, "junk" trees and many noxious species. They do a wonderful job clearing the forest floor and fertilizing as they go - making a stand healthier and more resilient.
