Hello, my name is Antonia and I am a farm manager in Durham County. I hope to own my farm land in the next few years.

I am a current farm manager for a family farm. I would like to create my own business with future farm land. My 4 years of farm experience have all been at small to medium organic practice farms and I would like my farm to continue in that tradition.

Veggies, fruits and herbs grown with organic (not certified) practices, low till, crop rotation, cover cropping, solarization, intercropping, fencing for pest mgnt, high tunnel use for season extension, black plastic for weed supression, soil amendments with compost, bone meal, fish emulsion, and green manure.
These practices would hopefully allow me to produce enought to sell at local farmers market / CSA.

Experience details
I have a BA in biology, 2 years of farm employee experience and 2 years of farm management experience. With those experiences, I have worked at 3 different farms in the Durham/Orange county area. I have attended farm risk mgnt/business training with Extension and have attended workshops with the CFSA Conference. I also participated in a 5 day long farm training and immersion program at a community farm in NY. Through my farm experiences I have been a part of: crop planning meetings, discussions on revenue sources and value added, farm marketing and website building.
