Desired locations
Looking for conservation easement land to buy or lease
Plan
2 humans (Alex and Breé) + 1 dog + 2 cats
Ideal situation: purchase or lease land under conservation easement in the Piedmont. Interested in enhancing wildlife, removing invasive plants, and planting native. If buying 20+ acres, plan to enroll in forest management plan. Would love to do agroforestry.
Secondary situation: purchase or lease land that allows us to do conservation work and spend time away from the noise.
Can be live-on or live-off (if fenced, would bring the dog).

Experience details
No formal farming training. Alex was electrician's helper for several years, so is used to working the elements, digging trenches, and doing labor. Breé has been immersing herself in the research of native plants, invasive plants, water & soil conservation practices, and grants and programs for conservation. They are currently converting their backyard to native plant wildlife habitat (with some non-native herbs and veggies).
Also starting to learn basketweaving (and wild basketry).
Interest in agroforestry.
If buying 20+ acres, would plan to utilize professionals to guide us in learning best practices for forest management.
