Seeking
- 11-50 Total acres
- 11-50 Acres of cropland or tillable land
- 11-50 Acres of pasture
- 11-50 Acres of hayland
Desired locations
Family of 5: 20+ acres, good water source, some usable pasture/open land, 30-45 minutes from a town, with/without a home
Plan
Our goal is to ethically grow food, raise animals, and continue building a small family homestead. We value the land and intend to care for it long-term—not for development or resale. I was raised in the country and have experience with raising different kinds of animals, haying and using some farm equipment. Most of my experience came from helping on a local dairy farm. We are looking to create a small generational family farm.
Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
We are interested in any equipment that comes with the property that we would be able to utilize towards reaching our farming goals.
Preferred type of opportunity
Opportunity details
We would be moving from out of state and have a property here we would sell. We would consider a short term lease to purchase if it allowed us to move to the property before/while we sell our current property.
Desired farming practices
Practices details
We intend to use a combination of traditional and regenerative farming methods, including composting, crop rotation, no chemical use, and natural soil-building techniques. Our focus is on long-term sustainability rather than short-term yield, ensuring the land is cared for and improved for future generations.
Production goals
Goals details
Our goal is to establish a small, family-run homestead focused on sustainable, diversified agriculture. We are committed to responsible land stewardship and plan to use practices that improve soil health, support local ecosystems, and create a productive and resilient farm over time.
Our initial production plans include:
- A large garden for vegetables, herbs, and seasonal crops
- Berry patches and small orchard development
- Raising small livestock such as chickens for eggs and meat birds
- Expanding into additional livestock over time
As we grow, we hope to produce enough to support our family while also offering surplus goods locally through farm stands, local markets, or direct-to-consumer sales.

Although I do not have any formal training I have learned by helping out as a summer hand on a neighboring farm.
