Updated Oct 23, 2025
Seeking
- 0-5 Total acres
- 0-5 Acres of cropland or tillable land
- 0-5 Acres of pasture
Desired locations
I am looking for land to graze sheep and potentially set up some mobile hutches for raising quail or growing some crops.
Plan
I am set up as a registered farm in Jackson County on my one-acre property where I raise Icelandic Sheep for fiber, and Coturnix Quail for meat and eggs and Chickens for eggs. I also grow blueberries and am expanding to grow raspberries and strawberries as well. I sell thorough the Jackson County Farmers Market year-round. I also sell the fleece raw online and am learning to spin it into yarn. I plan to keep going in this direction and offer more quantities at the farmers market and potentially in restaurants would be the goal as I expend meat production and berry production. I'd also like to experiment with renting sheep and agrotourism.
Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
I would prefer there be fencing and some type of shelter in place and water access for raising animals, but I am open to building shelter and fencing. I am open to adapting to the land that is available as long as it's within reason for me. I don't particularly need much infrastructure to get started.
