Farming full-time for income
Updated Nov 26, 2025
Seeking
- 51-100 Total acres
- 51-100 Acres of pasture
Desired locations
We are looking for grazeable land to lease for cattle. We implement regenerative practices and use rotational grazing.
Plan
Farming is my full time job. I currently manage our herd of roughly 70 cattle and 60 sheep on 100 acres. We are a holistically managed farm using regenerative practices with a focus on silvopasture. We rotationally graze both our cattle and sheep, moving them to new paddocks every 24-48 hours. We have planted over 1,000 trees on our home farm and are continuing to develop silvopasture.
We are looking to grow our operation but have been limited by land access and are hoping to acquire a new long-term lease. Animal welfare, improving the land that we manage through our practices, and providing our customers with the cleanest meat available is at the heart of what we do.
Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
We have all of the equipment we need to run our operation. The only things that we will need is access to water for livestock and electricity to charge batteries for our fence energizers. A tractor would be a plus for delivering hay in the winter but is not an absolute necessity. A small space to store tools and leave a side x side or ATV on the property is preferred.
Preferred type of opportunity
Opportunity details
We are primarily looking for a long-term lease (but would be interested in a lease to own given the right situation). Our home farm is only 80 acres and we have grown beyond the scale of our own farm. There are limited opportunities to lease in WNC. We are looking to grow our operation with a dependable lease. It is our hope to keep farmland in production and not see it turn into developments. Our livelihood depends on our farm and growth is a necessity. We treat all of our leases as if they were our own land and guarantee to leave them in better shape than we found them.

Desired farming practices
Practices details
We have been implementing regenerative practices on our farm for the last 5 years. Improving the land that we manage is part of our mission. I have been an Ecological Monitor for the Savory Institute for the last 4 years and have monitored the ecological health of farms from Georgia to West Virginia. Through our practices we build organic matter in the soil, increase diversity, grow more forage, and increase the overall health of the land under our management.
Production goals
Goals details
We are seeking a minimum of 50 acres but would like to find a farm with 100-200 grazeable acres. We will rotationally graze our cattle on the leased land. If the land owner is interested in silvopasture systems we have the ability to implement those practices as well. There is also the option to perform Ecological Monitoring for the landowner free of charge using the Savory Institutes system of monitoring. This will put hard numbers behind the regeneration that is happening to the land under our management.
We will maintain pastures, roads, infrastructure, and repair fences.
