Seeking
- 101+ Total acres
- 101+ Acres of cropland or tillable land
- 101+ Acres of pasture
- 101+ Acres of hayland
Desired locations
We are looking to lease /buy acreage for grain and cow-calf operation. I seek contracts that support the landowner.
Plan
Currently we grow corn, wheat, and soybeans. We use wheat and other vegetation mixes for cover crops in the late fall depending on what’s going to be grown the following year. Previously we had to sell cows and calfves we had when our pasture lease expired a few seasons ago. I intend to start over again once situated with a new lease. We also grow vegetables and specialty crops for contract buyers. Our plans are to expand the acreage we currently lease in to accommodate our growing need for acreage before developers and forestry managers deplete what open farm land is available. We do incorporate forestry in silvopasture practices & wind breaks, which allows both to work together.
Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
We have our own farm equipment to meet our agricultural needs. Anything that is available at your farm that you the landowner allow us access to, or state clearly in our lease agreement that we have full, limited or no access to, we will greatly appreciate.
Preferred type of opportunity

Desired farming practices
Practices details
I desire for Double J Farms to be a staple in our local community. For us to continue being a resource in our community for local churches, cooperatives, and any others who may seek our services or products. To encourage more young farmers and ranchers to be involved in agriculture and know that we are the grassroots of everything we consume everyday.

I started my agricultural journey on my family’s farm where are main cash crop was tobacco and we grew corn, wheat, and soybeans to supplement that. I worked on our farm from childhood into my late teenager years. During this time I developed mechanical skills, growing techniques, and leadership development. In high school I enjoyed being a part of my FFA chapter and the agricultural opportunities that came with it. After I graduated high school, I obtained my BS degree from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University in Agriculture Business. While enrolled, I also worked at the University farm as a horticulture assistant, equipment specialist, & high-tunnel builder.
