I am building toward a sustainable family homestead with a focus on growing food, raising poultry and eventually expanding into additional livestock. I currently maintain a home garden and have hands-on experience growing vegetables, herbs, strawberries and other crops, as well as caring for chickens. I am actively learning about gardening, livestock care, soil health, food production and sustainable farming practices. Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
I prefer property with existing infrastructure that can reduce startup costs, including farmer housing, fencing, a barn or outbuildings, livestock facilities, reliable water access, irrigation and basic farm equipment. A greenhouse would be a strong benefit for vegetable and seedling production. I am open to properties without all of these features and am willing to develop infrastructure gradually. Existing improvements, safe housing and reliable water are especially valuable for a long-term homestead or farm-transition arrangement.

I am looking for a long-term opportunity to establish Echols Homestead and develop a diversified family farm. I am especially interested in owner financing, lease-to-own, long-term lease, mentoring or incubator arrangements. I am willing to learn from experienced farmers, start at a manageable scale and build the operation over time. I am open to properties with existing infrastructure as well as opportunities where improvements can be developed gradually.
Desired farming practices
Practices details
I am interested in regenerative and ecological farming practices that improve soil health, conserve water, encourage biodiversity, and support healthy crops and animals. I want to use practices such as composting, crop rotation, companion planting, responsible pest management and other sustainable methods where practical. I am not currently certified organic, but I am interested in learning from experienced farmers and adapting practices that are appropriate for the land and operation.
Production goals
Goals details
My primary goals are vegetable, herb and fruit production for family food and future surplus sales, along with poultry and eventually small livestock such as goats. I am also interested in establishing bees for honey and pollination and developing perennial fruit production, including grapes and other suitable crops. I want to build a diverse, sustainable homestead using crop rotation, composting, soil-building and responsible animal care. I plan to begin at a manageable scale and expand as land, infrastructure, experience and markets allow.
