Seeking
- 0-5 Total acres
- 0-5 Acres of cropland or tillable land
Desired locations
Hello! We’re a family of 5 in Wake Forest looking to lease a small sunny plot for personal gardening.
Plan
We are a family of 5 in the St. Andrews Plantation area of Wake Forest, NC. Our current yard is too wooded and shaded for a good garden. My wife has been growing food her whole life, and we want to expand so we can grow more fresh vegetables and herbs for our family.
We’re looking for a 0.25–0.5 acre sunny plot to lease nearby (Youngsville, Franklinton, or similar). We plan to grow a variety of vegetables and some fruits using basic organic methods like composting and natural pest control. We’ll take good care of the land and keep the area neat.
We’re easy to work with and open to sharing some produce with the landowner. Happy to discuss details and sign a simple agreement.
Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
For a 0.25–0.5 acre family garden, we prefer basic, low-cost setup. Planning to build raised beds or in-ground rows, simple drip irrigation or soaker hoses if water is available, a small hoop house or greenhouse for seedlings, hand tools (shovels, tiller if needed), and fencing to keep out deer. We’ll bring our own equipment and make minimal improvements that benefit the land.
