We are a multi-generational family of first generation ORGANIC farmers looking for a place to expand our 1acre homestead

I oversee a homestead that will expand to include two additional families. My family oversees the animal husbandry. My aunt oversees finance, my mother oversees property management, and my cousins oversee the garden. Currently we are on two properties- a one acre, and an 8 acre. We hope to find a parcel that can accommodate all 3 families and our goal to run a restorative, self-sustaining homestead using silviculture and regenerative organic farming practices. We have many goals as a family, including: establishing a food forest, repopulating Bobwhite Quail back into NC, establishing a conservation that will be overseen by my cousin who is currently in school for Environmental Science.

  • Farmer housing
  • Barn
  • Fencing
  • Well / Pond / Other water source

Equipment and infrastructure details

We just need a barn, fencing, and a water source. Farmer housing would be really ideal, but really we just need power and water to the property. Maybe not even power, as long as there’s water. We have all lived in campers for several years before we got our small parcels so we are used to living small, and humbly, and will not mind to do so as we get out feet beneath us in our new location.

If I can dream big, the property will have a farmer’s house, fencing, barn, stable, workshop, secondary house, a tiny home, a cabin in the woods, and/or a camper hookup. Unfortunately we cannot afford a property with all of those things; we will have to build it. Just the acres, power and water for now.

  • Sale (Cash or Mortgage)
  • Sale (Owner Financed)

Opportunity details

We are looking for someone who is willing to give a chance to a multi-generation homestead of first-generation female farmers.

A standard sale that is willing to accept a USDA loan, or an owner financed situation would be most ideal for us.

Thank you for your consideration.

  • Biodynamic
  • Regenerative

Practices details

Organic, regenerative farming alongside silviculture practices to steward the forest we hope to call home. Our goal is to live in harmony with the forest and animals and we intend to use a variety of methods to do so, including:

  • using rotational grazing and tiered gardening to optimize land use
  • Water catchment systems to optimize water use for gardening, animals, and grey water alternatives
  • Using Composting toilets
  • Zone specific gardening with seasonal rotation
  • Manure harvested and provided on property from goats, chickens, and rabbits
  • Flowers / Herbs
  • Honey bees
  • Orchard / Vineyard
  • Poultry (Broiler / Layer)
  • Sheep/Goat (Dairy / Meat)
  • Vegetables

Goals details

Products planned for production include:

  • soap, lotion, fibers from goats
  • eggs from chickens and quail
  • pelts, taxidermy, farm jewelry, from assorted animals on the farm
  • Events on the farm, including Goat Hiking, Goat Yoga, Goat Birthday Parties, Goat Cuddle Parties, Groves & Goats (Dungeons and Dragons, with goats)
  • Educational Farm Tours on animals, forests, environmental sciences and gardening
  • Photography sessions with animals
  • Pick-your-own flowers
  • A farm store that sells the farm jewelry in addition to my cousin’s art and crafts

We have many diversification routes and plan to slowly build onto what we already have as we are able to expand. Eventually we hope to host guests overnight on the farm.
