I am an agriculture graduate who would like to find a farm where I can learn, grow, and become more independent.
Plan
My long-term goal is to own a farm and have a successful small business. I realize that it would be helpful to find a farm where I can contribute while I continue to learn. I am also seeking mentorship to learn the industry and where my skills and interests best fit.
Preferred type of opportunity
Opportunity details
I want to learn from someone so that I can eventually start my own business. I've been saving for the past couple of years intending to buy land. First I would like to learn more and gain more direct experience in the business.
Desired farming practices
Practices details
I want to learn and be adaptable so I can fit into a system and grow.
The practice I am most interested in is mixing animals into cropping systems.

Experience details
During high school, I worked on a poultry and vegetable farm in Raleigh for 2 years. I studied sustainable agriculture at Warren Wilson College. While in college I worked myself into a position of managing the cattle herd. Since college, I obtained a job in stream and wetland conservation where I usually work with farmers to restore the historical streams. I enjoy this job and I would also like to keep farming a part of my life.
