Beginning farmer seeking land for a family homestead, livestock, and a sustainable, long-term agricultural operation.

I am in the early stages of establishing a family homestead and small agricultural operation. My goal is to secure suitable farmland where I can develop practical farming skills, raise livestock, grow food, and gradually build a productive, sustainable operation. I am looking for a long-term opportunity that allows me to invest time and care into the land while balancing the needs of my family and the development of the farm. I am open to learning from experienced farmers and landowners.

  • Farmer housing
  • Barn
  • Fencing
  • Farm equipment
  • Livestock facilities
  • Well / Pond / Other water source

Equipment and infrastructure details

I prefer property with reliable water access, usable pasture, existing fencing, and a barn or other agricultural storage. Basic farm equipment and livestock facilities would be beneficial but are not essential. An existing residence or suitable homesite would be a plus. I am open to properties requiring gradual improvements, provided the land is suitable for the intended use and the terms allow for responsible long-term investment in the property.

  • Sale (Owner Financed)
  • Lease (5+ Years)
  • Lease w/Option to Buy
  • Lease w/Mentoring

Opportunity details

I am seeking a long-term opportunity to establish a family homestead and develop a small, productive farm. I am open to purchasing land through traditional financing or owner financing, as well as long-term leasing arrangements, including lease-to-own opportunities. I would also consider working with an established landowner who is interested in mentoring a beginning farmer or transitioning agricultural responsibilities over time. My priority is finding suitable land and building a stable, mutually beneficial long-term arrangement.

  • Conventional
  • Ecological production but not certified

Practices details

I am interested in practical, environmentally responsible farming methods that improve soil health, protect water resources, and maintain productive land over the long term. I would like to incorporate rotational grazing where appropriate, responsible livestock management, composting, and other sustainable practices as the operation develops. I am open to learning and adapting methods based on the property, climate, and agricultural goals.

  • Cattle (Dairy / Beef)
  • Hay or pasture
  • Honey bees
  • Poultry (Broiler / Layer)
  • Sheep/Goat (Dairy / Meat)
  • Vegetables

Goals details

My long-term goal is to develop a diversified small farm that combines family food production with manageable agricultural activities. Potential plans include a vegetable garden, poultry, small livestock, and pasture management, depending on the property’s suitability and available infrastructure. I want to build the operation gradually, prioritize responsible land stewardship, and develop productive systems that can be maintained over the long term. I am open to adjusting the production plan based on the land and opportunities available.
