I am looking for land for crop production and pastured animals- potentially cattle goats.

I am not currently farming. I have experience in vegetable production, greenhouse production of edible flowers and micro greens, nursery production of native trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants, and I have personally owned chickens, sheep and pigs.

Opportunity details

I am looking to buy property in the near future. I am currently getting my house ready to put on the market in the next year to free up some funds to do so. I would be interested in an arrangement that could transfer into ownership. I’d also be interested in just leasing as well.

  • Regenerative
  • Ecological production but not certified

Practices details

I would like to use all-organic inputs, including compost for fertilizer and biological pest management. I incorporate native plants into the landscape to balance out the ecosystem and encourage beneficial insects to do their work. As needed I may use diatomaceous earth or similar products. I utilize cover cropping. For animals I use organic feed. I don’t think I would operate on a large enough scale that I could justify the cost of being certified organic- though I am not opposed to that.

  • Cattle (Dairy / Beef)
  • Flowers / Herbs
  • Honey bees
  • Sheep/Goat (Dairy / Meat)
  • Vegetables

Goals details

I’d primarily like to have a small amount of animals (cattle/goats) to sustain my family and to work the land. The cattle would be for beef and the goats would be for dairy. As far as vegetable production, I would like to run a small CSA to generate a small income and sustain the cost of the farming.
