Seeking
- 0-5 Total acres
- 0-5 Acres of cropland or tillable land
Desired locations
Hello, I'm seeking to lease land for growing tree crops and propagating native plants.
Plan
I have a number of years of experience in backyard gardening and starting a small tree grove on leased land. I am seeking to explore how to grow native and less-known edible plants to diversify the produce that we consume on a daily basis. Some plants may also be sold for gardeners as companion or nursery plants. I am also seeking an opportunity to test out different polyculture approaches to maximize production yields on small plots. My current list of potential crops are:
Yaupon holly, Jerusalem artichokes, sorghum, strawberries. If trees can be planted: chinquapin, black willow.

Production goals
Goals details
My personal goal is to be able to get an understanding of how to generate agricultural produce efficiently at a larger scale than the standard backyard garden. While I aim to have some core products I intend to grow - largely perennial and drought-tolerant - I recognize that these plants may not grow as I intend due to site condition constraints, so production goals are not my priority.
