Seeking farmland to lease or share in NC; passionate about regenerative sustainable ag and ready to grow my farm journey

After working as a first responder, I discovered my true calling in regenerative agriculture. I’ve gained hands-on experience volunteering on friends’ farms and assisting in my father’s large garden growing up. My focus is on sustainable practices such as rotational grazing, soil health, and diverse crops and livestock. I aim to restore the land and produce honest, nutrient-dense food. Starting small, I’m committed to building a farm that nourishes my family and community, supports animal and ecological health, and helps pass essential farming knowledge to future generations.

Equipment and infrastructure details

I prefer simple, efficient equipment to support small-scale, hands-on farming. A reliable tractor for mowing and hauling is ideal. Portable fencing for rotational grazing is preferred, but I’m also open to building one myself. Key infrastructure includes a basic barn or shed for storage, animal shelters, compost systems, and a wash/pack area for produce. I’m interested in building a rainwater collection system and possibly adding a small hydro pump for off-grid electricity. I value low-cost, practical solutions that support animal welfare, land health, and long-term growth.

Practices details

I’m passionate about regenerative and sustainable farming practices that work in harmony with nature. My goal is to build soil health through rotational grazing, cover cropping, composting, and minimal tillage. I plan to integrate livestock to improve pasture health and nutrient cycling. I believe in producing good, honest food that consumers can trust and feel proud to support—raised with care for the land, the animals, and the community. My vision is to steward a farm that restores the ecosystem and provides real nourishment through transparent, ethical practices.

Goals details

I plan to start small, building a solid foundation with diverse livestock—cattle, pigs, poultry, rabbits, ducks—and vegetable crops. Using rotational grazing and on-farm feed production, my focus is on soil health and real sustainability. I’m passionate about offering truly local food through a farm market where everything is grown here, and customers can see how their food is produced. I also hope to create space for education, where young people, especially teens, can connect with the land, learn farming skills, and be part of something meaningful.

Experience details

My agricultural education has been informal but hands-on. I’ve gained experience volunteering on friends’ farms, helping with vegetables, livestock, helping design an automatic timed fence for cattle pasture rotation, and daily operations. I also grew up working in my father’s large garden, which sparked my love for the land. My learning continues through books, online courses, and resources focused on regenerative practices, soil health, and rotational grazing. While I haven’t held formal farm employment, I’m committed to building the knowledge and skills needed to steward my own regenerative, livestock-integrated farm in the future.
