Updated Oct 14, 2026
Seeking
- 11-50 Total acres
- 11-50 Acres of pasture
Desired locations
Beginner regenerative sheep farmers. We are looking for pasture lease oportunities.
Plan
I purchased a small flock of sheep a while back to learn to be a shepard and have since fallen in love with the occupation. We raise 100% synthetic chemical free St. Croix sheep as they have become a profitable emerging market and are a joy to raise. My wife and I desire greatly to be full time farmers now and are in need of pasture to lease that we may purchase more breeding stock and expand to produce a viable income that I may reach that lofty dream of quiting the day job.
Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
A perimeter fence is preferable but only some source of water for the animals is required.
Preferred type of opportunity
Opportunity details
We are young farmers that cannot afford to buy. We are looking primarily for a pasture lease. Preferably 5+ years.
Desired farming practices
Practices details
We currently do not and will not use any synthetic chemicals on our pastures and sheep and we only purchase hay from neighboring fields and a farmer we know that does not treat them at all.
Our lambs are and will remain 100% grass fed with hay in the winter and we will soon impliment more refined rotational grazing practices to increase the forage production, suppress parasites, and improve pasture health.
Production goals
Goals details
Minimal overhead to increase per unity margins with regenerative and scaleable methods that we may produce a high quality produce with a very safe margin that can weather market instability and allow to scale into a full time enterprise.
