Farming part-time for income
Updated May 27, 2026
Seeking
- 0-5 Total acres
- 0-5 Acres of cropland or tillable land
Desired locations
I hope to expand my native plants and flowers. Ideally, they will support pollinators at an existing farm.
Plan
I currently farm on my lot in Raleigh, NC, including flowers, fruit trees, berries, and vegetables. My plan is to expand my operations over the next 5 years. For 2026-27, I am focused on expanding my native plant offerings, both as cut flowers and potted plants. My target audience are eco-conscious buyers who prioritize NC native plants in the yards and gardens.
Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
Greenhouse with tables / benches for storage, garden hose or irrigation system.
Exterior field with access to water via hose or irrigation system. Ideally, this would be an irrigation system that we could rotate each year as native plants do not need much added water after the first year.
Preferred type of opportunity
Opportunity details
I'm looking for space to expand my growing capacity. I would like to run in a collaborative nature with any other farmers onsite. While I would appreciate any opportunity for mentorship, it is not essential for this level of expansion.
Desired farming practices
Practices details
I prioritize regenerative practices as much as possible with the goal of restoring the land through healthy, full-cycle growing practices. I use organic processes and products as much as possible but am not actively pursuing certification.
Production goals
Goals details
My focus for the next 2 years is flowers. I would be open to adding bees if time and space allow.
Farm experience
Years of experience
5 total years of experience

Education, training, and employment experience
Experience details
I do not have formal training but have built my farm over the last 5 years with a focus on natives over the last 3 years.
