Seeking
- 11-50 Total acres
- 0-5 Acres of cropland or tillable land
- 0-5 Acres of pasture
- 0-5 Acres of hayland
Desired locations
Husband, father of three, and soon-to-be retired Marine. I am new to agriculture with holistic farming aspirations.
Plan
We are in the planning and preparation phase while seeking land for a holistic farm within 30 miles of Cary, NC. We’ll begin with pasture-raised laying hens and broilers, gradually expanding into small livestock as our capacity grows. Our approach emphasizes holistic land management via rotational grazing, composting, and soil regeneration to build a resilient, sustainable system. Seeking 5 or more acres to lease long-term, with water access and room to scale responsibly. This will be a hands-on, integrity-driven operation grounded in stewardship and sustainability. We have established Middlepath, LCC and are in the process of obtaining licenses and permits for e-commerce and farmers market.
Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
I prefer having an established water source and/or permissions to build infrastructure for livestock water access. Existing perimeter fencing is preferred to mitigate the possibility of land encroachment, but not required.
Preferred type of opportunity
Opportunity details
I am simply seeking access and leasing to land to establish as a grazier with the intentions of purchasing land in the future. The purchasing of land is not exclusive to the agri-business, but a small homestead for my family to live on while I manage nearby leased land.
Desired farming practices
Practices details
I plan to implement biodynamic, regenerative, and ecological farming practices focused on soil health, biodiversity, and long-term land resilience. While not pursuing organic certification, I will use natural amendments, composting, cover crops, rotational grazing, and habitat integration to build a self-sustaining system. These methods prioritize ecosystem balance, reduce external inputs, and foster healthy plants and animals. My goal is to create a working farm that supports both the environment and the local community through responsible, earth-centered stewardship.
Production goals
Goals details
Over the next 10 years, I aim to build Middlepath into a thriving regenerative farm producing pasture-raised eggs, poultry, and livestock. The focus will be on soil restoration, ethical animal care, and nutrient-dense food. As the farm grows, I plan to launch programs that give back—offering mentorship, therapeutic work, and hands-on training for veterans, at-risk youth, and aspiring farmers. My long-term goal is to create a resilient, community-centered farm that heals land and people through purposeful, regenerative agriculture. These aspirations are not limited to 10 years. 10 years is what I have planned for.

Experience details
I manage an 800 sq ft vegetable garden and a flock of 10 laying hens in my backyard, gaining hands-on experience in small-scale agriculture. I handle seasonal crop planning, soil building, composting, and organic pest control, along with daily livestock care, egg production, and coop maintenance. This has taught me core principles of sustainable growing, animal husbandry, and holistic land management skills I plan to scale into a full farm operation as I transition from military service to regenerative agriculture. The only reason I have not expanded my garden is because I am out of usable space.
