Desired locations
Lifelong farmer looking for a farm to work, care for, and one day pass on to my family.
Plan
Farming isn't something I decided to do—it's how I was raised. From the time I was old enough to help, I was working tobacco fields, feeding cattle, making hay, and growing vegetables alongside my family. Those early years taught me that a farm is more than land; it's a family's history and legacy. After more than 22 years working on dairy, beef cattle, horse, and diversified farms, I started Mountain Roots to help preserve working farms by caring for the infrastructure they depend on. Today I'm looking for a farm to call home where I can continue that legacy for future generations.
Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
I'm looking for a farm with good bones, whether it's fully operational or needs some care. Existing fencing, barns, pasture, livestock facilities, and reliable water sources are important, but I'm also interested in farms that need improvements. Restoring agricultural infrastructure has been much of my life's work, and I enjoy bringing neglected farms back into productive use. More than anything, I'm looking for a place where I can put down roots, continue farming, and care for the land for years to come.
Preferred type of opportunity
Opportunity details
I'm looking for more than property—I'm looking for a place to build a future while honoring the past. I understand that many farm owners are passing on generations of hard work, and I don't take that responsibility lightly. Whether through a purchase, owner financing, or a long-term lease, my commitment is to care for the land with respect, keep it productive, and preserve its agricultural heritage. My hope is to become a trusted steward of a farm that can continue serving future generations, just as those before me intended.
Desired farming practices
Practices details
I believe every farm deserves to be cared for with the next generation in mind. My goal is to leave the land healthier than I found it by protecting water resources, improving pasture, reducing erosion, maintaining healthy soils, and taking care of existing infrastructure. I believe good stewardship comes from consistent care, practical improvements, and respecting the history of the land while preparing it for the future.
Production goals
Goals details
My goal is to build a diversified family farm focused on beef cattle, healthy pasture, hay production, and vegetables while preserving the values I was raised with. The farm will also serve as the home base for Mountain Roots, allowing me to continue helping neighboring farms maintain the infrastructure that keeps them productive. Through routine farm stewardship, I hope to help preserve working farms by addressing small problems before they become major ones and by supporting the long-term health of our rural communities.

Experience details
Everything I know about farming was learned by doing. I was raised working tobacco, vegetable, hay, and cattle farms before spending several years on a large dairy farm in Tennessee. Throughout my career, I've continued working with cattle, horse, and diversified farms, operating heavy equipment and helping farmers maintain the infrastructure their operations depend on. Through Mountain Roots, I now work with multiple farms, installing and repairing fencing, improving farm roads, drainage, culverts, livestock watering systems, pastures, and tackling the everyday maintenance that keeps farms running for the long haul.
