Experienced farm family seeking homeplace to grow agroforestry business, steward land, & raise multigenerational family.

We are a multigenerational farming family seeking a long-term farm home where we can build Mycelium Forest and Farm. My husband has more than 14 years of professional farm experience, including serving as Farm Manager at Guilford College Farm, while I provide ongoing planning, business support, and hands-on farm labor as my schedule allows. I work full-time as a Program Manager in healthcare, providing stable household income while we thoughtfully grow the farm and forestry consulting business. Our goals include agroforestry consulting, homesteading, market gardening, small livestock, pollinator habitat, a community-centered land stewardship rooted in ecological management.

Equipment and infrastructure details

A residence on-site is a high priority for our family. We ideally seek a 3-4 bedroom home or a property with the potential to add an ADU for a family member to age in place. Existing infrastructure such as fencing, barns, livestock facilities, irrigation, storage buildings, greenhouses, equipment sheds, or established perennial plantings would be highly valued. We can work with a wide range of property conditions and are particularly interested in farms with healthy soils, productive pasture, woodland resources, and opportunities for agroforestry development.

  • Sale (Owner Financed)
  • Lease w/Option to Buy

Opportunity details

We are primarily seeking a long-term arrangement that allows us to invest in the land while building a sustainable farm business. We are most interested in purchasing a farm or entering a lease-to-own arrangement that supports long-term stewardship and succession planning. We value transparent communication, shared expectations, and mutually beneficial relationships with landowners. Our goal is not simply to access land, but to become dedicated caretakers who improve the property's ecological health, agricultural productivity, and community value over time.

  • Biodynamic
  • Regenerative
  • Ecological production but not certified

Practices details

We are committed to regenerative and ecological farming practices that improve soil health, biodiversity, and long-term farm resilience. We prioritize minimal pesticide use, OMRI-approved products when needed, integrated pest management, nutrient cycling, pollinator habitat, rotational grazing, and conservation-minded land stewardship. We are particularly interested in agroforestry systems that combine productive agriculture with ecological restoration, including food forests, silvopasture, native plantings, forest farming, and perennial crops.

  • Field crops
  • Honey bees
  • Orchard / Vineyard
  • Poultry (Broiler / Layer)
  • Sheep/Goat (Dairy / Meat)
  • Vegetables
  • Woodlot or forest products

Goals details

Our long-term vision is an integrated agroforestry and homestead operation centered on ecological stewardship and community engagement. Planned enterprises may include market garden vegetables, tree and shrub propagation, orchards, forest farming products, pollinator habitat, honey bees, and managed goat grazing for vegetation control and land restoration. We are especially interested in native habitat restoration, silvopasture, and supporting landowners through agroforestry consultation and education. We value diversified production systems that improve resilience, create wildlife habitat, and strengthen the local food system.
