I raise meat rabbits. Organic, local, & using all of the animal is my mission. I have farm, animal, & garden experience.
Plan
I raise meat rabbits using my garden, and greens from the grocery store that would normally be discarded. I have experience with chickens, goats, cows, and horses. Growing my own food and knowing where it comes from a big passion of mine. My goal is to find a place where I can allow my rabbits to have more pasture space and where I can gain more experience. I grew up hunting on my Uncles cattle farm, and the ethics of using the whole animal, being conscious of what they are eating, and their quality of life, as well as land and habit conservation are very important to me. Farming your and your communities food is one of the best ways to do this.
Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
I would like a space to hold my rabbits like a barn, or a space to put a shipping container. As well as pasture and land to grow greens. I already have all equipment I would need, although a processing place would be wonderful! Access to water as well.
Preferred type of opportunity
Opportunity details
I would love a place to settle down for at least a few years if not longer. Somewhere that I can live and have space for my rabbits and a garden, well also helping out on the rest of the land.
Desired farming practices
Practices details
I am in support of any farming that prioritizes the animals/plants health, the health of the consumers, and the health of the land. Reusing the land and structuring the farm in a way to do so is very important to me. Practices of leaning away from harsh chemicals and instead using nature to better the farm, however that may be, are what I am interested in.
Production goals
Goals details
I am in the process of expanding my rabbits from just for my family to the local community in the form of a co-op. I would love to include more pasture in my practice. I would also like to gain experience in any other farm setting as well.
