Plan
I have some farming experience with chickens and land maintenance at my house but not a farm. We have friends who own a cattle farm in Siler City, NC and have been exposed to farm life. I spent my summers with my grandparents on a 10 acre farm in Tennessee. Very interested in an opportunity to purchase farmland with mentorship available. Interested in the property in Mt. Ulla, Rowan County. I want to learn Regenerative farming. I desire a more natural way of living and farming. My husband and I also pastor a church and desire to teach the younger generation to get outside, to work hard and enjoy the labor of their hands. Although I haven’t worked on a farm, I have volunteered my time.

I would need a barn and animal housing, water sources, (well, pond, stream) fencing with gates, food bins, ATV for transportation around the farm, tractor, trailers to transport animals.
My training came from hands on as a young person at my grandparents who had a 10 acre farm in Tennessee and volunteer work at a large several hundred acre farm in Siler city NC. I’m willing to take classes but at this time I have no certifications for farming. I desire mentorship in farming on taking care of the animals, land and the financial side of things. I’m unfamiliar with how to write a business plan for a farm.

There’s an opportunity to learn Regenerative farming in Mt. Ulla, Rowan county. It has 55 acres turn key with barn, creek, pond , fencing and gates. The information about it said they are willing to mentor and willing to owner finance. This is the opportunity I’m looking for. I would be learning about cattle, sheep, chickens, and I think there is 5 acres of forestry. This to me is the best opportunity. What I like the most is the offer for mentorship. This is what I desire.

I desire to be apart of regenerative farming. From my understanding the whole ecosystem from the ground up works in a beautiful rhythm of wholeness that produces healthy animals, and healthy animals produce good quality nutrient dense food that will produce better health for mankind. As I learn these farming practices I want to pass it down to my children and their children and pass along the knowledge through mentorship, building health generationally. I would also love to share these practices with a younger generation to get outside to see the beauty that’s all around them that’s real and tangible. Also, I want to understand and learn how to farm with gains/profit, the financial side
Production goals
Goals details
My goals would be to generate 20% to 60% of my income. I would like to create a plan that would bring an income all throughout the year where there would be something in place to be sold or harvested to create income during the various seasons of the year. I’m not sure what my total production plans would be but I’m thinking as I start it would be on a small level and then add growth each year. My goal would be to understand the needs of the animals and the land and learn a system that will be in place to run smoothly. My goal would be to eventually hire help to where everything can be accomplished and run smoothly. I desire the mentorship with the purchase of land found in Mt. Ulla NC

Experience details
Again most of my experience has been through volunteer work and on my own property with a small number of chickens. I have volunteered on a cattle farm with various task. I know how to drive a tractor, bush hog a field, the importance of counting your animals, etc. I also own a small 5 acre fruit farm that’s out of the country. So I do understand management, taking care of things at a distance and working with hired help. I’m very good with attention to detail. I love learning and applying what I have learned. I enjoy being outside and being around the animals. Most of my training is hands on volunteer work. I’m looking for an opportunity to grow and expand my knowledge of agriculture.
