Seeking
- 0-5 Total acres
- 0-5 Acres of cropland or tillable land
Desired locations
Seeking organic land for regenerative farming with veggies, fruit, chickens & bees for market crops.
Plan
I am a new farmer seeking land to grow food using regenerative and organic practices. My goal is to cultivate a diverse range of seasonal vegetables and fruits while integrating permaculture methods that build soil health and long-term resilience. I also plan to raise a small flock of chickens for eggs and maintain bees for pollination and honey. I am passionate about sustainable agriculture and committed to avoiding pesticides or synthetic inputs. My vision is to steward a piece of land with care, contribute to the local food system, and supply fresh, chemical-free produce to farmers markets in the community.
Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
As a beginning farmer, I currently lack my own equipment. Access to a tractor with attachments, small poultry housing, water sources, irrigation systems, and a basic processing facility would be invaluable to the success of my farming endeavor. These resources would enable me to efficiently establish crops, manage poultry and honey bees, and prepare produce for farmers markets while maintaining regenerative and organic practices.
Preferred type of opportunity
Opportunity details
I am interested in leasing farmland to experiment with my farming techniques and further develop my skills. While I may eventually purchase land, my primary goal for this lease is to gain hands-on experience, refine regenerative and organic practices, and build the foundation for a productive, sustainable farm. Ownership is not required at this stage; being able to actively work the land and learn is the most important aspect of my endeavor.
Desired farming practices
Practices details
My farming vision is rooted in soil health and long-term land viability. I aim to integrate practices such as intercropping, crop rotation, and regenerative methods that enhance fertility, biodiversity, and resilience over time. By pursuing a permaculture certification this year, I am deepening both my knowledge and commitment to holistic land stewardship. My goal is to create a farming system that works in harmony with natural cycles while producing nutrient-dense, chemical-free food. I am dedicated to serving my local community with clean, sustainable harvests that reflect both ecological care and agricultural integrity.
Production goals
Goals details
I plan to manage a diverse, market-oriented farm producing vegetables, field crops, flowers, and herbs, with fallow periods to maintain soil fertility. Honey bees and poultry will enhance pollination, soil health, and egg production. Through crop rotation, interplanting, and organic fertility management, I aim to provide reliable, high-quality harvests for local farmers markets while promoting biodiversity and ecological balance. My goal is to build a productive, regenerative system that supports both community nutrition and long-term land stewardship.

Experience details
I completed an 8-month apprenticeship where I gained hands-on experience cultivating produce using organic methods, from planting to harvest. To build a strong foundation, I took courses in permaculture design and plant propagation at Central Carolina Community College. I also worked on an organic farm in Hillsborough for 3 months during the off-season, where I deepened my understanding of North Carolina’s growing cycles and refined skills in organic production for farmers market distribution. These experiences reflect my commitment to sustainable agriculture and continual learning.
