Updated Jul 2, 2026
Seeking
- 11-50 Total acres
- 0-5 Acres of cropland or tillable land
- 6-10 Acres of pasture
- 0-5 Acres of hayland
Desired locations
Hi, my name is Tracy. My friends Bob and Michaela and I want to find land for our families to work together!
Plan
We plan on growing medicinal and culinary herbs organically and have a u-pick flower farm area. In addition, we will grow food crops for our families to enjoy and donate the left over crops to local food banks.
Desired infrastructure
Equipment and infrastructure details
If possible but all are not necessary - Infrastructure & Equipment: A small barn stores feed and houses milking and shelter space for rescued goats and alpacas. Livestock facilities include stalls, a milking area, and rotational paddocks separated by woven-wire/electric fencing to protect gardens and flower fields. A greenhouse extends the season for starts, herbs, and cut flowers. Farmer housing is a duplex or two modest homes for both families. Equipment includes a compact tractor with implements, hand tools, milking gear, honey extraction tools, and wool-processing equipment. Drip irrigation serves gardens and flowers. Water comes from a well and/or pond, supplemented by rainwater catch
Preferred type of opportunity
Opportunity details
Farm can very from 10 acres to 100 acres. We are flexible and smaller maybe the better bet as we have 2 families working together and those 2 families have other part-time jobs to attend to so the chores would be created on a rotational basis.
Desired farming practices
Practices details
Starting with u-pick flowers, bees, and adding goats for cheese, alpacas for wool, and medicinal and culinary herbs eventually. Growing food for our families and left over food sold at a farm stand or given to Manna
Production goals
Goals details
Two Families, One Farm: A small, two-family homestead in Western North Carolina raising rescued goats for cheese, rescued alpacas for wool, and rescued bees for honey; all under organic, no-till practices with fallow rotation for soil health. U-pick flowers and large shared gardens supply produce and cut flowers, alongside medicinal and culinary herb beds. Gardens are sized to sustain both families year-round, with surplus vegetables and berries donated to local food banks. The goal: a regenerative, animal-welfare-focused small farm that builds community food security while restoring pasture and land.

I grew up farming with my dad and mom. I did take some biology and plant taxonomy classes and my gardens are vast on my .30 of an acre.
