Faith-filled family seeking a farm transition, ready to learn, work alongside owners, and carry your legacy forward.

We're beginning farmers preparing to relocate from Jacksonville, FL. We plan to farm regeneratively with organic methods (not certified): no synthetic chemicals, soil built with compost, cover crops, and mulch, and livestock rotated on pasture. Year 1: a large garden, laying hens, and food preservation. Year 2: honeybees and goats. Year 3+: pastured sheep or cattle sold as freezer shares, plus homesteading workshops and farm stays. We'll sell locally through a farm stand, farmers market, and trade with neighbors. Our goal is to feed our family first, cover farm costs by Year 3 with no farm debt, and steward the land well for the long term.

Equipment and infrastructure details

We're looking for a livable family home, ideally with a second dwelling, cabin, or RV hookup for owners staying on. Must-haves: reliable water (spring or well), year-round road access, electricity, and internet for remote work. Preferred: a barn or equipment shed, workshop, feed and hay storage, fenced pasture for rotational grazing, garden space with water access, and a coop or small livestock shelter. A greenhouse, pond, or woodland is a plus. A small tractor with basic implements is helpful but not required; we're open to buying or sharing equipment in a transition. We value well-kept, working systems over new ones and are glad to learn and maintain what the owners have built.

  • Sale (Owner Financed)
  • Lease w/Option to Buy
  • Lease w/Mentoring
  • Employment / Internship / Mentorship

Opportunity details

We're seeking a farm transition with retiring owners who want their land and legacy carried forward. We'd love to live on the property and work alongside the owners as they mentor us, then take over management gradually. We're open to owner financing, lease-to-own, a phased purchase, partnership, or farm management leading to ownership. Owners are welcome to stay on the land as long as they wish. A trial period or extended visits first would suit us well, so both families can be sure of the fit. We're also open to a straightforward purchase of a smaller homestead. We're committed for the long haul and especially value owners who share our faith and care for the land.

  • Regenerative

Practices details

We plan to farm regeneratively, using organic methods without certification. Our goal is to leave the land healthier than we found it.

Soil: We'll build soil with compost, cover crops, mulch, and minimal tillage, and we won't use synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides.

Garden: A diverse vegetable and herb garden with crop rotation, companion planting, and seed saving where possible.

Experience details

We don't have formal agricultural training yet, but we're actively preparing. We're self-educating through books, courses, and homesteading resources, focused on regenerative methods like Joel Salatin's, and plan to complete a farm training course in our first year. We've met with experienced homesteaders to learn how successful farm transitions work. We're seeking a mentor-based transition because we want to learn hands-on from people who've done it. Rebecca brings 25 years of accounting and 17 years of HR and operations leadership, and together we run several businesses, so budgeting, record-keeping, and planning are strengths we'll bring to the farm.
