Plan
I have decades of informal experience in gardening in my own yard, but formal/structured farming will be new to me. Planning to enroll in a course early 2027 to learn the ins and outs of flower farming. Goal is to create an experiential farm rooted in organic/regenerative practices that brings community together to get excited about nature again (or more). We need more beauty, more slowness and more connection to land now more than ever. Combining my natural vision for large ideas, decades of professional photography and storytelling, and natural green thumb to create magic for others.

Looking for a space that has SOME amount of fundamental infrastructure in place. Bonus points if we were able to have a place to live as well, but not requisite.
Desired farming practices

Focusing on regenerative and organic practices only. Cut flower would be the primary crop, supported by heritage variety vegetables and herbs. I truly would love to create a mini ecosystem that emulates the symbiotic relationships of nature. And my hope is to also make it a communal space to inspire others to see the potential of harmonizing with the environment this way.

Predominantly flowers, but generally want to grow unique varieties of lesser known flowers, ones that need stewardship; unique vegetables, pollinator plants...all woven together in a sensory and experiential format to bring in community for events, education, and tactile immersion that helps people realize how diverse plant life is outside of a grocery store. The space would be an intersection of a very naturally designed botanical garden with a harvestable area/more structured growing setting. All of it rooted in sharing beauty and excitement around what we can do when we work with nature. And a space that recharges people. It is so important right now to have access to replenishing spaces.

Experience details
Everything pertaining to gardening is self taught so far. Enrolling in a course with Floret that takes place in Jan '27 for immersive flower farming training. I have a BS in Business, and understand that side of things (how to make sure the concept is viable/profitable). I also am a self taught photographer and have been able to build a six figure business as the sole contributor to the business. My ability to learn and implement is a skill that I value greatly about myself and work ethic. Recent chronic illness from mold toxicity put my life on pause and has pushed me to really consider what is most important. Stewarding the land is very high up at this point.
