We have 11 acres of hilly grassland with a large flat area that we’ve made the garden. There are two wetlands, springs that feed them, and two creeks on either side of the property. We’ve added a lot since we moved here - power & WiFi, a solar powered well, got a septic authorization permit, dug out a 700 foot swale and berm that we planted with asparagus, perennials, and fruit and nut trees, built a dry stone retaining wall, etc. It’s very much the start of a farm. There is a lot of wildlife, pollinators, and quiet neighbors.

Production details
We have 5 established garden beds in the garden, two raised beds by the camper, and a large swale. The garden beds have a small blueberry patch, an asparagus patch, two young elderberries, and some perennials like cone flower, baptisia, etc. There are young paw paws planted on the edge of the garden. The swale has a small asparagus patch, medicinals, perennials, young fruit and nut trees, and potential to plant many more. The raised beds by the camper are for annuals, and there is a mulched bed behind that has more perennials, fruit, and nuts trees. We have laying chickens as well - 13 chickens in total.

We are looking to lease our land as we plan for a move out of state. We are sad to part with this land and would love to find someone wanting to build upon the start of the farm we’ve established so far and will tend to the ecosystems already here. We are open to a lease to own option and would be happy to sell our camper and tractor to those interested. We have great neighbors who often watch our chickens when we travel, and we're just 8 minutes from downtown Marshall with a lot of great car and bike traffic on our road for those interested in a farm stand.
